Playing with the Big Boys – lyrics
Digging ever deeper on the graveyard shift
Sliding even further on a continental drift
You reap what you sow, so watch out with that plough
Be careful what you wish for, you’re playing with the big boys now
Tail lights stare like a pair of beady eyes
Your head’s exploding in a flash of TV lies
Weighing up the options your position will allow
No turning back, you’re playing with the big boys now
Youthful ambitions that were bursting at the seams
Burning through the neon night, you took it to extremes
Now your hands are shaking, beads of sweat upon your brow
This is what you wanted, you’re playing with the big boys now
You can feel the icy wind as it whistles in your ears
Paranoia lurking in the darkness of your fears
What you once believed doesn’t matter anyhow
It’s not what you imagined, playing with the big boys now
You were headed for a world beyond your wildest dreams
Only to discover that it’s not the way it seems
Now the prize is yours, come on up and take a bow
Congratulations, you’re playing with the big boys now
Be careful what you wish for, you’re playing with the big boys now
Congratulations, you’re playing with the big boys now
You’re playing with the big boys now
